CPR Report Cards; What's your grade?

Wednesday, March 28, 2018
12:00 PM EDT / 11 AM Central / 9 AM Pacific

Our Speaker:
Nicole Kupchik MN, RN, CCNS, CCRN, PCCN, CMC
Nicole Kupchik Consulting, Inc.

High quality CPR is essential to improving outcomes in cardiac arrest. Even experienced healthcare professionals can find manual CPR to be very challenging. Technology can assist healthcare professionals in improving CPR quality. For example, intra-arrest CPR data can be downloaded from defibrillators providing valuable feedback on team performance. This webinar will focus on the common, yet demanding problems that hospital teams face and innovative solutions on improvement.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the importance of high quality CPR during cardiac arrest

  2. Describe the importance of post-event feedback using CPR reports

  3. Discuss common problems with CPR in resuscitation events

Nicole Kupchik has practiced as a critical care nurse for over twenty years. After joining Harborview Medical Center, Nicole was part of a multidisciplinary team that was one of the first in the USA to implement therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest. As part of this effort, Nicole was responsible for protocol development and has published numerous papers on this topic.

In 2008, Nicole lead a team that implemented a formalized Sepsis program at Harborview Medical Center, which led to a reduction in mortality, hospital length of stay, and a significant cost avoidance. For this collaborative effort, she was awarded three Patient Safety & Clinical Leadership awards.

Currently, she works as a staff nurse in Seattle, WA. In 2013, Nicole founded Nicole Kupchik Consulting & Education.
